Top immune boosting food
1. Almonds. Just 1/4 0f a cup of the plain old almond can give you nearly fifty percent of your daily recommended amount of vitamin E, plus B vitamins. These are great at protecting your body from stress. At our Fitness resort you get to have muesli with almond milk for breakfast, how is that for a healthy start to your day.
2. Mangoes. These ‘orbs of health’ are fantastic at giving you all of your recommended daily allowance of Vitamin C, two thirds of your vitamin A and nearly half of your recommended amount of vitamin E. At the Fitness boot camp you can see these growing all around you and even ask the gardeners to cut one or two down for you as a super food snack.
3. Tomatoes. An amazing source of of antioxidants, full of carotenoids, beta carotene and lycopene. Also excellent for vitamins C and E. Carotenoids guard against certain types of cancer, by limiting the abnormal growth of cancerous cells. You will find heaps of tomatoes in all your salads at our boot camp for weight loss.
4. Carrots. Great at naturally cleansing the body. Vitamin A assists the liver in flushing out the toxins from the body. It reduces the bile and fat in the liver. The fibers present in carrots help clean out the colon and hasten waste movement, just make sure your not too far from the nearest loo!
5. Garlic. This ‘wonder bulb’ is natures antiseptic. Garlic contains allicin, which is anti bacterial, anti fungal and anti viral. Research has shown that garlic can cut the likelihood of catching a cold by 50 per cent. Eat it freshly crushed and raw for the best results, if you don’t want to lose all your friends then try allicin supplement capsules, these won’t smell so much.
