The Fitness Holiday Thailand knows why it is important to build your balance.
Most people think that ‘balance’ is far less important than weight and muscle tone when it comes to prioritising their fitness aims and goals. However, balance is vitally important. Here at the Fitness Holiday Thailand we will tell you why.
Impotance of balance
Balance is important for several reasons, prevention of injury, prevention of falls and trips and in keeping your body resilient as it moves into old age.
Richard Thomas founder of the Fitness Holiday Thailand say’s that balance is the skill which we need in every day life as well as physical excercise. Balance can be practiced either using static stationary posture holds like standing on one leg or holding a plank. Or dynamic which helps your ability to coordinate movements and changing direction. If you want to improve and enhance your poise then exercises that focus your core strength can be very effective . Try one legged movements like balancing on one leg. You could also try squat-based movements where you bend your knees and lower as though you are about to sit in a chair. When you are balancing remember to use your core which is in your tummy area. Your core muscles can be activated by gently pulling your naval to your spine. Don’t pull in to hard as these muscles fatigue quite quickly.
At the Fitness retreat Thailand we some times go for a more holistic approach to fitness, try your hand at yoga, pilates and even meditation.
Other great balance enhancers are tennis, exercise classes, thai bo, Muay Thai boxing, Kiyaking and assault courses. All these types of exercise encourage you to shift around in random directions which is an excellent way to build your balance.
To your very good health
